Meet Your 2017-2018 GHE Board.....

Patrice Bryant serves as President. She and her husband Kelvin are entering their 14th year of homeschooling. Patrice and Kelvin have been married 25 years and have three sons ages 16, 17, and 18 and one 5 1/2 year daughter (aka "The Princess"). The Bryants are members of Elim Christian Fellowship where Kelvin serves as an elder and Patrice works part time as the Administrative Assistant. They are both very active in the Youth and Financial Empowerment Ministries at Elim. Their family is also very involved with homeschool athletics in Greensboro.

 Amanda Wares serves as Vice-President. She is married to Michael, and has 4 children: Susannah, 21, Killian, 16, Katrielle, 14, and Deacon, 8. This is their 13th year homeschooling, and her 11th year on the GHE board. The Wares family is a part of Kairos Community Church, serving in the children's ministry and helping with the sound during worship. In addition to her roles as wife and stay-at-home mom/teacher, Amanda also serves on the NCHE board as Homeschool Helps Director.  In all her spare time, she loves to read, plan field trips, and encourage new homeschoolers!  

Natalie Hollomon is the GHE board Secretary. The Hollomons are native Washingtonians but have made North Carolina their home for 22 years now. Natalie and her husband Tyrome, II have two children (Shaina 26 and Tyrome, III soon to be 15 years old). They are entering their 6th year of homeschooling and Tyrome’s 5th  year as coach for the GC-Heat basketball team.  The Hollomons are members of Elim Christian Fellowship where they act as facilitators in the Marriage Learning Academy.  Also, Tyrome serves as head of the Deacon’s Ministry and is a teacher in the youth ministry and Natalie serves as the head of the Greeter’s Hospitality Ministry. They are both very active in their community as well volunteering on the Ole Asheboro Neighborhood Association Board.  Natalie enjoys serving others, spending time with friends, reading, bowling, roller skating, and mentoring youth as they walk with Christ (Proverbs 1:8-10 NLT). She looks forward to supporting fellow homeschoolers on the GHE Board.

Christie Cheatham is the GHE Treasurer. Christie is married to Lewis Cheatham Jr. and they have 4 children: Chelsea 10 years old, Malachi 8 years old, Ashley 5 years old, and Jeremiah 3 years old. 2016-2017 is their sixth year of homeschooling. A Graduate of NC State University, Christie has a BS in Accounting.  Through further studies at Liberty University Online Christie has taken courses in Biblical Studies.  Christie also serves as an Associate Minister and leader of the Women’s Fellowship at Friendship Baptist Church in Greensboro. Christie enjoys cooking, taking walks, and gardening, "especially seeing the seeds planted, sprout, grow, and produce vegetables and fruits, bringing nourishment to us & others, just as I see the seed of obedience to God to homeschool our children".

Alev Nobles serves as one of our Activities CoordinatorsAlev and her husband Zack have been married for 18 years and have lived in Greensboro since 2004. This year marks their sixth year homeschooling their 2 sons, ages 11 and 7. The Nobles family attends Westover Church, where Zack and Alev volunteer in Children’s Ministry. Alev enjoys reading, traveling, singing, and staying up later than she should.

Rebekah Johnson is one of the Activities Coordinators.  Rebekah and her husband have two boys and are beginning their 7th year of homeschooling.  The Johnson family is active in their local church in a variety of ministries.  Rebekah is involved with the Greensboro Gladiators Middle and High School Cross Country Team and with the elementary Running Start Homeschool Fitness Program.  She enjoys fitness, being outdoors, and coffee....lots and lots of coffee!
